Nicely compact and full of style, the Samsung Digimax V700 is one
of the most affordable 7-megapixel point-and-shoot digital cameras
available. It's ready to take pictures very quickly thanks to its
instant start-up, which allows you to shoot pictures as soon as
the camera is turned on, and the high-speed shot-to-shot feature
allows continuous high-speed shooting. The V700 features
world-class Schneider optics, 3x optical and 10x digital zoom, a
plethora of customization modes, and a movie mode that is limited
only by the size of your memory card. It comes in three colors:
silver,
blue, and
red.
The 1/1.8-inch CCD provides a resolution of 7.0 effective
megapixels with the following resolution modes: 3072 x 2304, 2816
x 2112, 2592 x 1944, 2272 x 1704, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1024 x
768, and 640 x 480. The Schneider Kreuznach lens, recognized
throughout the world as being one of the leading quality lenses
available, produces crystal clear images. It has a 38-114mm (35mm
equiv) 3x optical zoom with an f2.8-5.1 focal range. It also
features both an auto shutter speed of 1 to 1/2000 second and
manual of 15 seconds to 1/2000 second.
The V700 uses MPEG-4, a
high-compression, high-quality movie clip file format, which can
record up to 3 or 4 times longer than MJPEG, the usual format for
DSC movie clips. It supports more than one hour of video and audio
recording time if you are using a 256 MB memory card. Movies can
then be played back at TV quality as
the V700 can process movies at up to 30 frames per second. Clip
length is limited only by the amount of memory available.

The Movie Stabilizer
feature ensures smooth video through correction of lateral and vertical
camera movement caused by the operator's hand shaking. Additionally, the
V700 provides a built-in movie clip editing function, enabling you to
select part of a movie clip for saving, during playback. It also allows
you to capture a selected part of a movie clip as a still image during
playback.
The 2.0-inch TFT LCD screen
provides a large focusing area and is also home to the camera's wider
range of creative controls. The intuitive graphical user interface (GUI)
allows you to easily navigate the camera's menu of features and
capabilities. It also has a full range of custom choices including a
variety of exposure modes, five ISO settings, and more.

The Auto Macro function
automatically adjusts shooting distance and focus. Press the macro
button in Auto mode to set the camera to adjust distance and focus
automatically from between four centimeters and infinity.
